Co-organizer in Regenera Village, Yoga teacher and Corporate Sustainability Coach.
Carolina is a woman who is finding a way to channel her passions into Regenera Village: Her love for spirituality and personal growth, her love for the research and work on sustainability of our planet and our communities, and her love for the creative expression as a way to connect with our emotional dimension and with each other.
Her love for music
Carolina found in music her main creative expression while growing up in her home town of Malaga. At her school she led the choir while playing the Spanish guitar, and enjoyed creating a few songs for events. She also learned music language and started learning piano, continuing in a self-taught manner during adulthood. Nowadays she enjoys her guitar time on her own to get away from daily stress and with friends where they collectively sing along some pop classics.
Her engineering background
Carolina graduated as an Engineer and later completed her PhD in Bioengineering in Southampton (UK), where she spent 16 years working as a researcher in bioengineering, later in marine robotics, and most recently in maritime environmental policy maker for the British government. She enjoys participating in projects related to marine and earth protection. Her main objective is now to combine the arts with the sciences and research in sustainability to widen the impact of their results.
Her love for acting
During her time in the UK, Carolina started her love for acting while joining the cast of the world premiere of The Shadow Factory (55 Productions, Nuffield Theatre), where she sang and danced to several choreographies. She later joined The Maskers Theatre Company to play several roles in the adaptation of The Quixote, where she sang and played several solos with a small guitar and a flamenco box. She took online lessons during covid with the Actors Academy (The Reel Scene, London) and when she returned to Malaga in 2022 she started her acting lessons, such as some camera acting intensive courses with Yaiyons, casting director José Cerqueda, or film director Maria Ripoll. She has been enrolled in a regular acting course now for a year with Yaiyons, which to her is a life saver.
Her love for Yoga
During her time in the UK, Carolina became certified as a yoga teacher by The British Wheel of Yoga, and to her the yoga experience has been her life saver in very difficult times with health challenges and stress management. She found a way to channel her spiritual yearning.
Her motherhood
Carolina became a mother of two beautiful girls during her time in the UK, and to her this has been (and still is) the most challenging aspect of her life, the one that turned her upside down and the one that brought about so many generational beliefs and blockages that she is still trying to heal. But she still feels that she would never change this experience, she loves her daughters dearly, and she tries to be a living example of the passion for life and enjoyment of the beauty of the experiences that this planet brings us.
Her entrepreneurial soul
Since her return to Malaga, Carolina has founded two businesses, one of them, Regenera Network is dedicated to the preparation and participation in European projects related to environmental and social sustainability, and she recently got her first awarded project! The other business, Regenera Village, has been cofounded with her friend, Marin Mägi-Efert, where she wants to bring people closer to their inner Self through creativity, spiritual practices and sustainability values and knowledge. She teaches yoga in all the retreats, and with her collaborators she also coaches on business sustainability and strategic mindset during corporate retreats.
